Beautiful European Porcelain Enamel Sign Giveaway

UPDATE: This giveaway is NOW CLOSED

Every so often I receive a request from a company to host a giveaway as part of their marketing plan, but I'll only do it if it's something that I would love to own myself:-).  Recently I was contacted by a company in Denmark to see if I could host such a giveaway, and this is one product that I would love to have!
You know those French enamel number plaques that you see actually all over Europe?
Ramsign is a small Danish company that specializes in manufacturing and selling classic enamel signs (house signs and house numbers) based upon original designs and techniques. They are generously offering one of my blog readers a custom made porcelain enamel house number plaque with anywhere from one to five numbers in your choice of styles. The old signs have been gracing just about every building all over Europe for centuries and they are so charming! Yours will be made to look just like the old signs and be customized just for you. Here are a few of their signs in lovely bucolic settings.....

The lowdown on how to win:

1st Entry: Visit Ramsign and tell me which sign you like best and leave a comment to let me know!

2nd Entry: Follow my blog and leave a comment to let me know....or leave a comment if you are already a follower. It's okay to be a follower sometimes and this is one of those times!

3rd Entry: Blog about or mention this giveaway on your blog, or put the giveaway button that I have on my sidebar on YOUR own sidebar. You must link that back to my blog and then leave a comment to let me know when you have!

4th Entry: LIKE Shabbyfufu on Facebook...here is the link, where I usually post something almost every day. Come back with a comment to let me know!

5th Entry: Purchase anything on my website or Etsy site and come back and let me know that you would like an entry!

Does anyone leave blog comments anymore? I've noticed a big drop off and I must admit that I don't always have the time myself to comment on your blogs. Come on now...I have hundreds of people reading this blog and don't bite....so for this Giveaway you simply MUST comment, lol!

No anonymous entries please, make sure that I am able to contact you if you win. This giveaway is OPEN WORLDWIDE with FREE SHIPPING, and one winner will be drawn by a Random Number Generator on MONDAY Sept 5th, which is Labor Day here in the U.S.
Good luck...

Studio Lighting From Shabbyfufu & Camera For Sale

It's been a very busy weekend in my studio, and I wanted to share just a few of the pieces that I've been working on for the Shabbyfufu website before I go on to some other news......
Italian Tole Lamp (actually lamps, as I'll have 2) with large white porcelain cherubs and white ruffled shades that I made on the vintage framework.
French boudoir lamp with porcelain roses and a petticoat lampshade that I sewed up out of old gown material
If you have followed me for awhile you probably know how many teacup chandeliers and lamps I've made over the years...hundreds! I put this together out of some old tole parts and beautiful antique china. I have it on the front of the website as Coming Soon....but now it's pre~sold to a client who saw it there:-)

I'm working on a French wood chandelier right now too, and some other projects that will be on the website soon.....

So I mentioned my new camera....and a few of you on F/B inquired. I'm a Canon girl....have owned Canon cameras since digitals first came on the scene. I finally upgraded to a Canon 5D Mark II, something I've wanted for some time. I am going to be selling the Canon 550D T2i that I've had for a little over a year. If you are interested...it's really a top of the line camera and you can read it's rave reviews on Amazon HERE
Let me know if you are interested (I sold my previous Canon to a blog reader, I take great care of my cameras:-).
EDIT...This Camera Is Now SOLD!
Right now I am waiting for sweet daughter to come in from the airport. She lives in NYC and was traveling before the hurricane decided to drop in on New York and now can't get back....so a bonus for us to have her here at least overnight. I'm off to make her a home cooked meal....
I'm going to be hosting a wonderful GIVEAWAY soon from a company in Denmark that approached me....so please check back in! Until then.....

My Deliciously Vintage Life...Bathed In Light

Greetings my friends...and bonjour mes amis (all of my new readers who came to visit me from Tania's blog:-).
Speaking of....I wanted to post a picture of the gift that Tania brought me from France, this beautiful vintage white pitcher. You know me...I had to make it into a fine art photographic print, couldn't resist!
Speaking of fine art photographs....thank you to all who have been purchasing my photography. I appreciate your encouragement very much and since I had been a contributor to several of the magazines that we all love to read in the past, who knows where my growing love for photography may take me in the future? For now it's basically a passion that I continue to learn about and grow with. In fact...I just purchased a new camera, the one that I've been saving up for and wanting for sometime. More about that later...these pictures were all taken with the camera that I have had for about a year now that will be for sale soon. Feel free to contact me if you are looking for a great camera before I list it:-).

My home was truly bathed in light this morning and I was walking around looking at my deliciously vintage pieces. Here are some unedited shots that I took of some vintage loves to share, I hope that you enjoy them!

Have a great weekend....and to all of those in the possible path of Hurricane Irene please stay safe, I am thinking about you...

French Blogger....Like Minded Souls Across The Globe

It was so lovely to spend a few hours today with a lovely blog friend who was in Miami from France. I was pleasantly surprised when she emailed me a few days ago to see if perhaps I might be able to get together when she was in town this week. Mais oui! I was really pushing it to take a break from the Shabbyfufu website shoppe, as this has been one of the busiest weeks that I can remember for some time....but I am always drawn to my French friends and Tania is just the sweetest. We have lots in common, other than the fact that she likes red wine and I prefer white! We exchanged gifts.....I didn't have a chance to take a photo of her brocante pitcher for me, she's wearing one of my tattered rose pins.

Like minded souls from across the globe...you probably are too, so you can visit darling Tania here:

I am off to our beach home for a long weekend tomorrow.....love to all of my other blog friends across the globe~

Shabbyfufu Shoppe Update

Hello everyone....I'm posting a quick update for those who visit my shop at Shabbyfufu, which BTW has been on the web since the late 90's (way before blogging)!

I finished one of my new hanging dress forms that I think is one of the prettiest and most feminine to date for those who still love pink & girly. Do we ever outgrow pink? I've been doing these forms for many, many years now....they are original to my website and can be done as a custom order in most any color...
Lots of other new things...a little vignette below, please come visit when you can. Thank you to all of my customers who come from this blog...worldwide shipping IS available!

My Travel Photos....Hello From NYC

Well hello everyone....I hope that you are enjoying the summer, which is going by so quickly! Like many of my blog friends I just don't seem to be finding the time lately to get on and post on this blog. If you can come over and visit me on Facebook I'm over there more often these days....I'd love to connect with you:-).  If you are a fan of Shabbyfufu I've been posting special sales and discounts as well...so that's how you'll find out about those.

My husband and I just got back from a quick trip to NYC to visit our daughter who has been living out of "the big green suitcase" for the last year. She's currently working in New York, so we went up to spend some time with her and to enjoy the city. NYC really does have it all...great buildings, fabulous places to eat, wonderful hotels, shopping, etc. As they say "if you can't find it in New York it probably doesn't exist", very true.
One of my favorite things about NYC is the old against the new in terms of it's architecture. I shot hundreds of photos and won't be posting them all here (obviously!) but thought that I would share just a few favorites with you today......
Old against new, I love that juxtaposition
View from Central Park
We took a romantic carriage ride through the park
You might not expect to see a sign like this in the middle of bustling NYC
I love fashion, and my daughter convinced me that the 3 1/2 hr wait to get into this show (she'd already been) was worth the wait. Really I just have one word for it, which is AWESOME
Fashion in every storefront window is beautifully displayed
I often had to scratch my head and ask myself "are we back in Paris"???
Amazing old church

I shot this in St Patrick's Cathedral
We stayed in Midtown Manhattan and often walked around the Upper East Side
Oh yes, we are not in Paris....but in NYC!
Well you KNOW that I had to do some flea markets
Again, NOT Paris....Bryant Park
The Diamond District and the Garment District were great people watching (& street photo shooting)
It's almost 10 years since 9/11.....remembering those who lost their lives
I hope that you enjoyed my photos.
I'm working on some romantic new things for the website, so I'll be back soon to show you what I've been up to. Lots of love to all.....
