Mantel Of The Month Interview

Hello everyone....just a quick post today (two in one day is not like me) to let you know that I am over at my friend Roberta's, being featured as the Mantel Of The Month. Roberta is an "internet pioneer"(her term, not mine, lol!) and we have known each other for a long while.....so I was thrilled when she asked me to post.

Please pop on over to Roberta's place at ENCHANTED TREASURES for the interview and some decorating tips featuring my summer mantel, and be sure to catch this feature on her website every month!

Summertime Fan

Hello my lovely friends, I hope that everyone is having a great summer so far.....
I just wanted to pop in quickly and ask you a question. Are you a fan?

Just a little play on words here, but I wasn't referring in this case to the Shabbyfufu Facebook page. Certainly I would love it if you would though....as I will be posting more there in the future and less here on the blog.....

What I was wondering....do you prefer to see photos that bloggers simply collect from other blogs that inspire them, or do you prefer seeing photos taken personally by the blogger? When I look around at blogs, I prefer the more personal touch....but maybe that's just me?
Are you looking for decorating inspiration or project tutorials? Do you like to read a little about the blogger's life? I know that I do...but sometimes it's just TMI then I care to read if you know what I mean. I'd love your input if you have a minute....

For now I leave you with a few photos of our place at the beach, where I'm headed out for the 4th of July weekend festivities soon........

The discount on the website is still in place thru the holiday weekend with 10% off (over $50) by entering the code BLOG upon checkout & clicking SUBMIT.....

Craziness Of My Mason Jar Chandelier Post And Tutorial

Well hello everyone...I'm taking a little break to talk about this for just a minute.....

A break from peeling these (sorry, bad iPhone photo) fresh picked Florida MANGOS!....

It seems that my Mason Jar Chandelier (candeliere) has gone somewhat viral over the internet! I'm always thinking of new ideas to create and have been doing so for most of my life, so when this one popped into my head........well, who knew!....

It's been pinned all over Pinterest and has been reblogged in several places. I see hits coming from what I am guessing is a private forum....do you know who "chickensintheroad" is? If so please let me know. I've had a couple of blogs contact me to ask if they could reblog...and that's always nice:-). Today it's being featured over at Charming Ink...thank you Lachelle.....

This morning I did a little photo shoot for a guest post on another blog that's coming soon....here is a sneak peek at that.....

Back to the mango palooza.....I'll see you again soon

Shabbyfufu Mango Bread Goodness...The BEST Mango Bread Recipe Repeat

Mango bread goodness.....

I have a repeat post that has been one of the most popular in my years of blogging, and although I don't normally do many recipe posts this one is perfect for summer entertaining, for breakfast or wrapped up all fancy for gift giving. Sorry that I don't have the time to do any lavish table or styled shots today, just deal with it!
If you love mangos, try this one out asap. Photos included as a guideline of how stages look....

3/4 cup vegetable oil
2 1/2 cups mangos, peeled and chopped
1 tsp lemon juice
1/4 cup golden raisins
2 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/4 cups white sugar
2 eggs

Directions:

1. Combine all of the dry ingredients. Beat eggs with oil and add flour to mixture. Add mangos, lemon and raisins.
2. Pour into 2 greased (Pam spray) 8 x 4 loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for about an hr or until toothpick comes out clean.
