White Displays To Inspire....Various Vessels

Hello to you....and you...and you....

Just a quick post as I was playing around with some textures and actions on a handful of my photos today, trying each day to master a bit more of Photoshop. I run a pretty busy website and I need to be careful of the time that I devote to working on my photography, but I do so enjoy enjoy it!

This afternoon I put together some very simple displays in various vessels from my studio that would be easy for anyone to do with something similar. I hope that these inspire you.....and you....and you....

An inverted antique French beaded dome with some white paper pom flowers
You can do this in any bowl or vessel....make your own poms or find them in the bridal section of your party store
White buttons in a simple silver bowl....I love the juxtaposition of the patina on the old white and shiny silver
Old aqua ball jar filled with mica flakes in my studio...sparkle in a subtle way with the zinc top all tattered

Lovely old skeleton key, tattered ribbons, burlap thread pulls and more old buttons
Faded grandeur of antique pearls in old tin molds

Antique chandelier crystals in white ironstone relish dishes
Various textures from Kim Klassen and actions from Florabella

Silk Roses & Vintage Millinery

Greetings everyone and happy long holiday weekend to all of my friends in the U.S! I'll be up at our beach home for this Memorial Day weekend and hoping for some good weather. It's getting hot here in South Florida and kinda rainy too.

I'm happy to join in on another photo challenge today with A Rosy Note, and you will find the button on my sidebar for the link. The challenge was simply to post some flowers and since I always like to think outside of the box *-* I'm posting a few photos of flowers taken from some of the Shabbyfufu romantic style dress forms that I have sold recently. They are a combination of roses that I hand dyed and sewed from silk ribbons that I've acquired over the years and vintage millinery.

I always like to take some hand sewing with me when I go up to our beach place, just in case it rains! I have a custom order that I need to work on for one of my dress forms for a boutique in Australia:-). I have some of my ribbons and all that I need to sew with in this vintage wicker purse. Love all of the velvet roses on this one!
Florabella Sugar Coated II Multiply 90% & edited curves
Here are some of my roses, edited in Photoshop CS4 with Florabella Textures and recipes and you may click on the photos to enlarge if you'd like......

Romance Of White Decorating

Greetings everyone and I hope that you had a lovely weekend. It was a quiet one here and I spent some time working on a couple of custom dress form orders and then relaxing on Sunday with my husband around the pool......

I find white to be the most romantic of all colors and for today's post I took some close up shots of various textures in our living room to share (edited with textures!). You've heard it before that when you decorate in whites, textures are so important to keep the room from having too much of a cold, modern feel. You can click on any of these images to enlarge and I hope that you are inspired........

All photos are edited with textures from Kim Klassen. I'll be linking up to her Texture Tuesdays this week, I have the button on my sidebar. Also linking to White Wednesday at Faded Charm.....

I hope that you have an inspiring week ahead. Now, back to work for me...and I'll see you again soon. Please leave a comment if you have time.....

White Living Room....French Style

Hello everyone.....I've been taking the time to work on my own home a bit this week and moving things around. I'm joining in this week with Photo Feature Friday from A Rosy Note and sharing a few shots of my living room updates. The theme is white, and that's what is the dominant color in my home. I'll share more shots later on.....

All of the above photos were edited with Florabella actions in Photoshop CS4.

Thank you again to all who have been so supportive with the passing of my sweet doggy Murphy. A special thank you to my new friend Kary over at My Farmhouse Kitchen. If you have a chance go over and pay her blog a visit.

Subtle Qualities Of White.....Photoshop

Hello friends.....thank you for stopping by today and I hope that you are having a good week......

I have always loved the subtle qualities of the color white, and rather than post decor I am sharing a little collage that I made up in Photoshop this evening. The picture that I used was on the previous post, and I used a variety of actions in Photoshop to play different effects. I think that you can click on the collage to enlarge it if you would like to see a bit closer.
Yup....this is actually how I love to relax on a rare quiet evening around here.......

I am joining in on White Wednesday...this is a first for me, so if you are clicking over from that come say hi! There is a lovely giveaway over there as well....so be sure to check it out.

Kindness Is Infectious And A Winner

Kindness....it's infectious.
Thank you so very much for your kind comments, emails and even a few cards in the mail offering sympathy about losing our sweet little fur boy Murphy. I really appreciate the kindness of the blogging community and although I may not have a chance to get back to you right away....please know that I'm touched and thankful beyond words.

It's only been a little over a week and so I find myself still looking for his wagging tail (we called it "the tailometer, as it was a meter of his joy) when I come in the door. I expect to see him on the couch in the family room and following me outside to hunt for lizards. His spirit is still here and always will be!

So just a quick post to let you know that I'm fine and taking some time to continue with my website (which has been around way longer than blogging has been!) and to work on some long neglected projects in my home. I need to finish fluffing, sprucing and some reno work before the Fall......I will tell you why later*-*

I cut these flowers out in my garden today and have no idea what they are called? They are sweetly fragranced, it smells amazing in here! One of the things that I'm working on is sorting through baskets of vintage linens. I have collected for decades and now that I have my new buffet (still need to paint it) I have some more linen storage at last. Most of them I got for a song at thrift shops and yard sales, back when I used to sell on Ebay and before it was en vogue to be thrifty!

I put a few of my bottles and jars out on the buffet too. The light blue bottles are from some wine that I have been buying at Whole Foods just because I like the color of the bottles. Do you ever do that?
The aqua bottle...one of my daughters found it at Marshalls, since she knew that I love aqua and she wanted to cheer me up. I have several of the vintage blue syphons and vintage Ball jars around here...so thought I would add them to this basket. The basket.....I found this in a trash pile on the street in Paris when I was there in November. My family was with me and cringed that I'd be trash picking in Paris of all places. Pourquoi ne pas!

I'm sorry that it took me so long to get to this, but the winner of my Nightea Night Light from a previous post is:
Brenda of Shabby Cats and Roses. Thank you Brenda...and please contact me with your shipping address.
Love to you all and I'll be back to show you some progress around my home soon.....thank you again for  your comments.....
