The Aqua Candelier Reveal, A French Buffet and More.....

Greetings everyone....I hope that you are having a great week so far.

I have been working on lots of different things and concentrating a little on some projects for my own home. In a previous post I showed you the chandelier that my husband was kind enough to bring home for me from it's abandoned state on a property that his company is working on. He knows that if I caught wind of him NOT bringing it home he would hear about that for a long time! I knew just what I wanted to do with it....and YES, the patina is natural from being outside in the south Florida elements for who knows how long. 


As I mentioned before, it was too far gone to rewire....so it's now a candelere, rather than a chandelier. Here is the finished piece, which I love.....


I have it hanging in my kitchen over the island right now and will light the votives tonight and see how it looks, but I think it's going to end up on our covered patio with some faux candles (we call them "fandles")....

I went shopping snooping in a friend's garage the other day and saw this very, very long vintage French style dresser. She told me that she was planning on selling it and I nearly fainted when she said $30! We just brought it over today and this is where it will go, but after a transformation. It's going to be great for linen storage and replace the vintage white French caned table that's been there for awhile.....which is going behind my white tufted sofa.

I plan on refinishing it with some applique work and a milk paint finish. You'll see.....

Been working on lots of new things for the shop (dress forms, teacup chandelier), and opening up a new category with supplies that are pretty and feminine for all of you crafty ladies out there:-). You'll find silk ribbons from France, sachets, pretty vintage wallpapers, gift tags, millinery and more.......soon!

I have also been devoting a good deal of my days caring for this guy....my darling almost 10 yr old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who is not well. I'll spare you the details, but Murphy has congestive heart failure and is on the decline. If you have pets you know how they are so special, so if you can, please think some good thoughts for him.....

Rescued By A Trained Husband

Hi everyone....I am taking a very quick break from the "packing & shipping dept"(aka my kitchen island these days) to quickly show you how well trained my husband is. He rescued this chandelier for me that was tossed aside in a property that is being worked on. Definitely looks like beyond trash to some....he knew that I would find a good use for it. Thanks Mr. honey!.....

LOVE this aqua patina!....

Although we are masters at rewiring around here with the hundreds of chandeliers created for the WEBSITE over the years, this one is too far gone to take apart. It's going to be a candelier.....as opposed to a chandelier. I hope that what I have in mind will work (hint, it's going to involve more AQUA)....I'll share it with you soon.....

Of course it won't have the glamour of the one below, which is my favorite chandelier that is hanging over our dining table at the beach house......

It's pretty much finished, but I'm still waiting to install hardwood floors. Since my husband has a construction business it's the old story of "the shoemaker's children" around here. Our house always waits until last on his part....until his guys are slow enough where he doesn't have to distract them over at our place. I'll post some more finished bedroom pictures with the existing tile floors (that are cracked!) soon, because if I wait until the wood happens...who knows when that might be.

Spring Decorating Around My Home

Greetings everyone....I hope that you are having a great week so far.


It's a bit unusual for me to post on a Tuesday, in fact it's a bit unusual for me to have any free time to do some of the things that I  enjoy besides my busy website! I've decided to lighten up a bit over the last few days as I was really feeling some Shabbyfufu burnout....so I've postponed working to play!


I've been doing some sewing for my own home for a change and just finished some very simple slips and pillows for the dining room. As a collector of vintage linens for decades I have tons....I mean, literally closets and bins full of old tablecloths, fabrics, and trims. These chair slips were made from vintage Irish linen tablecloths....the pillows too. Very simple, plain white with ruffles. There's nothing like working with linen, especially the old stuff....lots of it...

I have also been playing around in Photoshop and although I'm normally not big in the joining dept, decided to link up with Kim Klassen's Texture Tuesday today and use one of her awesome textures on these photos called Silence (which as you know is golden, so I'll be quiet now). I hope that you enjoy these photos....it's looking really Springy around my home!

Roses Inspiration And Beauty
