A warm hello to all of my dear friends! I have been occupied with some "secret projects" for the past week, getting orders shipped out and working on a few custom orders for clients....so blogging and visiting blogs has been on the back burner. I had planned on writing a different sort of post today, but I can't think straight. As many of you know I live in Miami, which is a true tropical paradise as far as I am concerned. Just look what I saw up in the palm trees in my yard yesterday! A beautiful pair of wild Macaws (they mate for life:-) eating coconuts!
Living down here is mostly good, but it means that you have to be prepared for something that we all dread.....hurricanes. We have one that appears to be headed directly for us (Hurricane Ike), and this weekend it's going to be time to prepare. Living here for most of my life I will never get used to them. Our house was destroyed back in '92 with Hurricane Andrew and we were in it at the time with our young family all hiding out in a bathroom with everything being torn apart around us.....a scary experience to say the least. We rebuilt and it's stronger now, and thankfully the kids are off with their own lives in cities further north in our state. Hopefully this one won't be as bad.....please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
I will be working as long as the power remains on, and the storm isn't due to make U.S. landfall until Tuesday.....so hopefully I will get lots posted on the website between now and then. Will talk to you soon and hope that you enjoy your weekend~
