Tree Hugger

Those who know me personally realize that I have always been a nature loving, tree hugging type of girl.....and really love to be outdoors observing the beauty of it all. Before the dreaded heat and humidity of summer set in I have been trying to spend as much time as possible out there, and brushing up on my photography skills as well. After all........life is NOT all about work, life is about living, and while things are a bit quiet with work I am persuing some other passions!

Recently we went to the Miami Metrozoo, which as far as zoos go is one of the best, as the animals are not caged, and their native habitats are closely reproduced with plenty of roaming room. They also have a world class breeding program, and are involved in the saving of endangered species.

I thought that I would share some of the photos that I took and invite you to take them if you like~but please link back to me if you plan on using them in any way on the web. Enjoy!

These guys are SO HUMAN! Wonder what they are thinking??

Man, I'm BORED!

Wheeeee........who says that animals don't smile!

So very pretty in PINK, and apparently it's their diet that gives them this glorious color!

Talk soon........
XOXO~

Oh gosh I just love visiting zoos. The beauty of those creatures is just wonderful. SSSHHH I'm going to tell you a secret.... Sometimes while at the zoo I daydream of being some one who goes out to the far reaches of Africa or other exotic places and rescue these magnificent creatures to rehabilitate them for release back into the wild. Silly I know, but that's just me!!! :-).
Have an inspiring day!

Hi Janet,
What lovely pictures and I am so, so happy to hear these beautiful animals are not caged and in their natural type of environment. Makes my heart feel happy.

I may take you up on the pink flamingo picture or the lions - and will certainly link back to you, sweets.

Anyway, I'm making the rounds and telling my blogging friends~

Happy May Day!

Hi Janet, besides being a fellow tree hugger, I'm also an animal hugger. It was so nice to learn about a zoo that doesn't cage it's animals. Your photos are beautiful, and they really captured the personalities of the animals. They look so happy in their habitats.

What fab photos Janet! I love the "Man, I'm bored" - too funny!

I was just thinking the other day that zoos can be so cruel so it's nice to hear that this zoo closely mimics the animal's natural habitats. All zoos should take this lead...

Have a great weekend Janet!
